Welcome to Mrs. Stoklas' Classroom Blog!

We are very excited to invite you to visit our classroom blog. At the end of each day our class sits together as a large group to review what we have accomplished during the day. Jobs for the day now includes the "blogger". That person will choose what we add to our blog that day.

I hope that you will enjoy reading our daily additions and use them as conversation starters with your child when you are riding in the car, sitting eating dinner, or talking before bedtime.

I welcome comments and questions. Together we can make this a great year.

Floorplan for Dental Unit

The floorplan below is a pictorial reference for a Dental Health Unit.  It indicates both large  and small groups.  Please note the color key at the bottom of the page.  Children are not required to rotate every few minutes.  However, they will  visit each center by the end of the week.

Today's Blogger Is Chong

We looked at the worm farm with our flashlights.  There are worm tracks on the side of the farm.  We learned a new story called "Herman the Worm". When we Skype Mrs. Washington's class we are going to teach them "Herman".  We wrote our names in shaving cream.  Mrs. Stoklas let Camille talk into a Fisher Price microphone when she did calendar.  We took a bunch of stuff and put  it in a big line from smallest to biggest.  There were long pieces of paper with lines on it taped to the table.  We got to stand up and cut the  paper on the line. My favorite thing I did today was play in blocks.

We talked about worms.  When we turned out the lights the worms moved on top of the dirt.  Then when we turned our flashlight on them they moved really fast into the dirt.  We made a worm farm in an old fishtank.  Everyone got to help.  We put some plants in the tank too.  Worms eat old paper and leaves.  When we picked them up they felt cold. Our hands got dirty.   Tomorrow we are going to see if they made any tunnels.
